We can’t do it without you!

Dear Friend,

In recent years, 1 of every 6 people in Western North Carolina used a food bank. Food banks are now feeding more people than ever before. But while in these times the demand is up, food donations are down. Our food banks need more food than ever to help feed the hungry.

The Lord’s Acre is a local Garden Project providing fresh vegetables for Food For Fairview our area nonprofit food bank. We also provide to a number of other local nonprofit organizations such as the Fairview Welcome table, and a veteran’s association. In our first 8 growing seasons, we donated over 60 tons of fresh, organic produce.

Our goal is to continue to feed those in need in a variety of creative ways, develop and strengthen our volunteer community and be a model for other garden efforts in WNC and throughout the country. We can’t do it without your help. Yes, you are welcome to grab a hoe and pitch in, we would love to have you! Right now, though, we are asking for your financial help. Please take time to consider the needs of hungry families and children and give generously to a project that helps people right here in our area.

The Lord’s Acre is a nonprofit (501)(C)(3) corporation originally organized and sponsored by community volunteers and donors who have come together to help provide food for families in need. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the needs of the garden and your neighbors in our area.

Thank you,

Pat Stone and the rest of The Lord’s Acre Board of Directors:  Susan Sides, Joseph Malinak, Steve Norris,  Robin MacCurdy, Louise Bijesse,  Jen Rattigan, Jessica Molina, Said Abdallah,  Jackie Kiger
