The annual conference of the North Carolina Community Garden Partners (NCCGP) offers unique learning and networking opportunities for North Carolina’s growing number of community gardeners. The organization’s 2014 gathering – Growing Garden Connections – will take place Saturday, October 25, in the Sherrill Center on the UNC Asheville campus.
“Educational sessions will cover a variety of community garden topics, so you’ll be sure to leave with new information, new skills and new friends. You don’t want to miss it!”
The conference will feature speakers on topics ranging from controlling pests to community-wide organizing, a tour of community and student garden projects on the UNCA campus, a delicious lunch with local ingredients, and a raffle with garden-inspired items. Diana McCall, Garden Supervisor for the Town of Black Mountain, is chairperson for the event.
The event begins at 8:30 AM and lasts until 5 PM. Tickets are $15 for NCCGP members and $20 for non-members and can be purchased through Eventbrite at goo.gl/LFNsZ1. Although a limited number of tickets may be available at the door, advance purchase is recommended since past conferences have sold out. For more information or to purchase tickets, please click here.
